Laois-Offaly TD and Minister of State Sean Fleming today announced the eligibility for several services across Laois to apply for added funding.
From today, seven services are eligible for additional funding as part of older persons Day Centre and Meals on Wheels Community Care services.
This scheme will be available to support Laois community by providing extra financial support of up to €25,000 per organisation. The following organisations will be now be able to apply -
The funding is designed to support improvements to the physical premises for Day Centres and Meals on Wheels services in Laois. It can be used to upgrade kitchens and other facilities, and to purchase equipment.
Speaking on the additional funding, TD Sean FLeming said: "I would encourage all of these eligible centres in Laois to apply for this funding, which will greatly enhance their facilities and support their services.
"I am pleased that these Laois services are eligible to apply for this funding. This funding can go towards improving these services who may need upgrades to their facilities and will help these centres cater for the needs of people who avail of their services.
"Older person Day Centres and Meals on Wheels services are such a vital service for so many that rely on it. They offer a safe and welcoming environment where people can access these essential services as well as allowing people to engage in social activities".
