LSPCA posted an image of the two dogs online
Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has issued a desperate appeal for help and say they are struggling and have reached capacity.
Despite being full, they have taken in two sick and emaciated spaniels that were found on a bog last Thursday.
One of the dogs will need surgery for a hernia once she is fit enough, the LSPCA said.
“Like every rescue in the country we are really struggling and although we are full, we made room for these girls. We desperately need your help if we are to continue helping animals. Any donation towards the care of these two dogs will really be appreciated. Link for donations is included below,” the LSPCA said in an online post.
They asked if anyone who has information on how these dogs got into this condition, to please ring 086 4169559 so they can pass the information on to the relevant authorities.
