Gardaí are again reminding motorists at the Electric Picnic not to drive while under the influence of drink or drugs.

One man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving at the festival on Saturday night. A further two motorists were arrested for driving under the influence on Friday night.

Gardaí are reminding people that they will be testing for drink and drugs at all exits during the festival as part of Operation Surround.

“Our Operation Surround will go ahead tonight there. There is absolutely no reason to take drugs or drink and drive,” gardaí said.

“Operation Surround continues. That is successful. There have been a few cars detained for no insurance or tax,” gardaí added.

They urged people not to drive if they have consumed either drink or drugs.
