Plans have been unveiled for the latest multi-home plan for new houses in Portlaoise this time on a street that is also home to one of the town's big schools.
Proposals have been lodged with Laois County Council to build the new houses on Harpur's Lane in Portlaoise which located near Scoil Bhride NS.
Billy Kirwin is seeking permission from planners in County Hall to get permission for seven new terraced homes on a compact green field site on the street which links into the Mountmellick Road.
All but one of the homes proposed are semi-detached house types.
If the project gets the green light, the houses will be located on a road which has been the subject of intense residential development in a town which is enjoying a building boom not seen since the Celtic Tiger.
