Carol Murphy (People First CU), Dan Bergin (Laois PPN), Catherine Donnellan (Secretary, Portlaoise Tidy Towns) and Vincent Booth (Chairperson Portlaoise Tidy Towns) winners of the Community Champions
People First Credit Union has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's All-Ireland Credit Union Awards.
The Credit Union has been named as a finalist in the Social Dividend Initiative (Social Impact) category.
The award up for grabs is in relation to the People First Community Champions Award (€10,000) which is held in connection with Laois County Council and Public Participation Network, Laois.
The prize pot is given to local projects and groups that have made a difference to people living within the community and last year Portlaoise Tidy Towns were the winners.
Commenting on the nomination People First Credit Union said: "PFCU aims to fund capital projects that leave a lasting impact, with a particular emphasis on environmental change and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) focus for the good of the community. We want to acknowledge our team's hard work and innovation in connecting with our community and enhancing our services. Fingers crossed for the finals."
The All Ireland CU Awards will take place on Saturday, October 19 at the Crowne Plaza, Dublin Airport.
