As part of Local Development Week, local development company Laois Partnership Company are inviting Laois locals to visit their premises in Portlaoise to learn about their services available across the county.
Local Development Week, which runs from Monday, 23rd September to Friday, 27th September 2024, is a week-long nationwide event spotlighting the vital role Local Development Companies (LDCs) play in building vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable communities throughout Ireland.
Laois Partnership Company is taking part by hosting an open morning at their headquarters on the New Road in Portlaoise on Friday 27th at 11am.
On the day, visitors will have the chance to speak to the staff to get a better idea of how Laois Partnership Company can help them or your community to grow. Supports and funding are available through the various programmes that the company delivers to enable individuals, groups, and businesses to reach their full potential, with Laois Partnership Company saying it is "all with the goal of making Laois a better place to live".

Laois Partnership Company provides support to various sectors across Laois, from childcare to services for the elderly, work placements and community engagement, and investment in social, rural, and economic development.
Among the many projects that Laois Partnership Company has supported are the Ballinakill playground, BloomHQ in Mountrath, and local businesses such as Ballykilcavan Brewery and Glamping Under The Stars.
Laois Partnership Company moved into their new headquarters at the old St Francis School on the New Road Portlaoise in September 2022, and CEO Caroline Lydon has extended a warm welcome to anyone interested in learning more about what the local development company can do for locals.
“Laois Partnership Company has been operated in Laois for over twenty years and has supported so many valuable projects and communities across the county, yet people are still unclear about what it is we do," Caroline said.

Local Development Week 2024 provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the impactful work LDCs do daily, enhancing the quality of life in towns and villages across the country.
