Laois tot gets the go ahead for life-saving transplant
Portarlington one-year-old Robyn Neville Quinn has had a date set for her life-saving transplant in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
Robyn suffers from Wiskott -Aldrich Syndrome (WAS). WAS is a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder that primarily affects boys. For Robyn, a girl, to be diagnosed with this condition is incredibly rare (one in one billion).
Parents of one year old Robyn Neville Quinn have taken to social media to thank their supporters.
"We wanted to share an important update with you all," Megan Quinn and Adam Neville, both 25, said on Facebook this week.
"We traveled to London to meet with the transplant team, and we are relieved and grateful to say that Robyn's transplant is officially scheduled to go ahead in November," Robyn's parents shared with delight.

"This is a major step forward in her fight against-Aldrich Syndrome. We can't express how much your support and generosity have meant to us during this challenging time," they continued.
"Your donations, messages, and prayers have been a true source of strength for our family.
Robyn has a tough road ahead, with the transplant and the recovery process, but we know she is a warrior.
"She has shown incredible bravery and resilience, and with your continued love and support, we believe she will come out of this even stronger.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
"We will continue to keep you updated as we move forward with her treatment," the family finished.
