Laois Junior Certs celebrate their results in the sky

Clonaslee College proudly celebrated fantastic Junior Certificate results on October 9.

School principal Ms Suzanne McMahon praised the 47 students for their hard work and perseverance.

A portion of the students receiving their results are currently partaking in a French exchange trip, and had to dash for their Aer Lingus flight upon receiving their results.

"I want to congratulate each student on their outstanding achievements, and to praise the dedicated staff and supportive parents," Ms McMahon told the Leinster Express/Laois Live.

"The collaborative efforts of the entire school community played a key role in helping the students succeed," she said.

Ms McMahon gave a speech to the current TY, 5th year and LCA students before they received their results, applauding them for their fantastic accomplishments.

"Some of our students were unable to be present for the celebrations, as they embarked on an exciting adventure as part of Clonaslee College’s first-ever French exchange trip supported by PPLI (Post Primary languages Ireland) to Vichy, France," Ms McMahon explained.

"Even in the skies, their success didn’t go unnoticed, with Aer Lingus staff offering their congratulations to our high-flying achievers during their journey!" she said.

"We are especially proud of our EAL (English as an Additional Language) students. Despite joining a new school community and adapting to a different language and culture, these students worked diligently alongside their peers to sit the same exams.

"Their commitment and determination to succeed have been truly commendable, and their accomplishments are a testament to their hard work.

"Clonaslee College is incredibly proud of all our students' efforts and achievements and eagerly looks forward to watching them flourish in their future endeavours. Well done to all!" the principal finished.
