Special night for Laois on The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In

It was a special night for Laois on The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In on RTE 2 on Thursday night which featured Parish Priest David Vard and the Timahoe Male Choir.

Leinster Express Sports Editor Gavin Cooper was lucky enough to be in the audience for the unforgettable show and shared his experience below.

Leinster Express Sports Editor Gavin Cooper shared his experience of being in the audience for the The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In.

Being part of the audience for The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In on RTE 2 was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone buzzing to be there. The 2 Johnnies were in top form, full of craic, and constantly thanking the audience for being part of the show.

The behind-the-scenes moments were just as fascinating as during ad breaks, the lads would either step off set or get touched up by hair and makeup. The set itself was surreal to see in person after watching almost every episode at home, definitely a pinch-me moment!

The night featured Cork singer Lyra and Olympic gold medalist Rhys McClenaghan as guests, who played a hilarious game of Silent Disco, trying to figure out which dancer in Cork was listening to a different song based purely on their moves.

There was also stand-up comedy from Micky Bartlett, a man playing Darude Sandstorm with his nose, and another playing accordion behind his back. Plenty of random but brilliant entertainment.

What made it even more special for me was the Laois connection. Stradbally was part of the Parish Quiz, with Parish Priest David Vard nailing all three questions, and the Timahoe Men’s Choir, which Vard is a member of, also featured. It was truly a fantastic evening to be a part of!
