Have you seen Oscar the parrot? Beloved pet goes missing in Laois
A green Indian Ringneck parrot called Oscar has been reported missing from his home in Portarlington.
Oscar's owner, Mikey Lawless, said that the beloved bird got loose on Saturday 12 October at around 2pm.
There has been multiple sightings of Oscar around the area in the past few days, but unfortunately he cannot be caught.
Oscar was seen last on Thursday 18 October in Portlaoise, all the way from Mikey's home in Kilnacourt Woods in Portarlington.
Mikey said Indian Ringneck parrots are quite good at surviving in the wild. He added that the hand-reared bird is very friendly and would be quite used to people.
He explained: "When we actually bought him he couldn't fly so we let him regain his ability to fly. He got a fright when the door was open one day and he just took off."

This is the first time that Oscar has gone missing. Mikey said that Oscar was a present from his partner and that they are "devastated over the bird."
When Oscar first escaped on Saturday, Mikey contacted the fire brigade and Kildare Wildlife Rescue to seek help in reaching the parrot who was found in a tree.
Unfortunately, Mikey said that the Laois fire services could not help him as it was "not classified as an emergency by the council".
Mikey says the issue was that he couldn't get near him because he was too high up.
"We were looking for assistance in getting a ladder or something to get up the tree basically. He was up about 30 foot in the air," he said.
Mikey has asked that if anyone has spotted Oscar or can help in any way in retrieving him, that they contact him through his Facebook page or email address - mikeylawless4@gmail.com.
