Portlaoise Parish Church will be the place to be at Christmas week begins for what promises to be a captivating night of music and song to get you in the mood for the festive season.
The concert, which is entitled 'The First Noel', features Christmas music and song in SS Peter & Paul's Parish Church Portlaoise on Sunday, December 22.
It features the Portlaoise Parish St Peter & Paul's Children's Choir, conducted by Sarah Troy and the Midlands String Ensemble, conducted by William Troy from Ballyfin. MORE BELOW PIC.

The Midlands Strings ensemble is an amateur group of musicians who play violins, violas, cellos and double bass.
The concert is free and all are welcome to the show which starts at 3 pm.
A Parish Carol Service takes place later in the day at 7.30 pm at the Church to round off a day of Christmas entertainment at the biggest church in Laois.
