A ten-year-old girl from Laois has been named as the winner of a national Christmas card competition.
Mia Fitzgerald, a pupil at Ballyfin National School, entered The National Dairy Council's corporate Christmas card competition which attracted over 350 entries this year.
The competition is open to all school children around the country and the 2024 theme was dairy farming.
Mia's winning creation will be used as NDC’s corporate greeting card, which will be sent out to thousands of people in the agri-food sector and beyond.

Mia and her teacher David McNabb have each won a €100 One4All voucher as well as a signed jersey by Rugby International and NDC Ambassador Garry Ringrose. The winning card design will also be promoted and featured across NDC’s social channels and in print and media. Mia spent 4 hours designing her card using new art markers and colouring pens she got. She used these to do extra detail and loves to draw and paint in her spare time.
