'Truly one of a kind' - Laois community shocked by sudden passing of beloved Abbeyleix woman
The Laois community has been devasted by the sudden death of Lorraine Lyons (née Tyrrell) just days before Christmas.
Lorraine, from Gort na Nóir in Abbeyleix, sadly passed away on Saturday, 21 December.
A much loved figure in her community, many have taken to express their sympathies with Lorraine's family online and share their admiration and fondest memories of her.
On her RIP.ie notice, one person wrote: "What a wonderful person who was kind, caring and full of life and happiness. A young life gone far too soon."
Another kindly shared: "She was such a special person—full of life, laughter, and one of a kind. We all have so many wonderful memories of her which will never be forgotten. Her love for Christmas, dressing up, and all the fun and craic made this time of year feel truly magical. It feels so bittersweet that she left us at Christmas—it was her favourite time, and now it will always remind us of her. "
Someone else said: "Lorraine’s friendliness and kindness will be long remembered in Abbeyleix."
Her sudden passing has left many in Abbeyleix shocked, with some people simply saying "there are no words" to describe the loss.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral arrangements will be announced later.
