Portlaoise GAA Club in Rathleague will host the tournament at 2pm on Saturday, 28 December. This fantastic new initiative was set up to address key challenges within the club such as player retention and improving player pathways.
The exciting event has been designed to help integrate the 2024 minor players with adult players across all codes and grades. Portlaoise GAA Club say that it is a great opportunity to "build camaraderie and strengthen connections" within the the local sports community.
For anyone wondering what Town Ball is, it is a hybrid game which combines skills from Gaelic football, tag rugby, NFL and AFL.
The tournament will feature a mixture of players from minor, junior and intermediate, as well as senior footballers and hurlers.
Everyone is encouraged to rally their support for the tournament, with its sole purpose being to create a fun, social and sporting event for the community.
Portlaoise GAA Club has invited everyone to come along to the event to cheer on the players and add some festive fun. There'll also be some refreshments on the day following the final games.
