The GAA club which flies the flag for Laois on the Carlow border has issued a call out in the Graguecullen area for new volunteers to help the club grow and realise its potential.
Graiguecullen GAA has invited locals to be part of the team, behind the team and to volunteer to help one of oldest clubs in Laois to grow. The club says volunteers are the heart of the club.
"Whether you're passionate about sports or simply want to give back to the community, there's a role for everyone," it says.
The mainly Gaelic football club says that by volunteering you'll be supporting the local community, make new friends and connections in the process while developing skills and gain experience in the process.
As to how you can help the club says volunteers are needed for coaching and mentoring in positions where you can share your skills with players of all ages.
There are also opportunities to get involved in event organisation for people who want to help plan and run club events and fundraisers.
If you think you have no experience, Graigue GAA says that is problem as volunteers of all skill levels are welcome while training and support is provided.

Graigucullen GAA is based on the Laios Carlow border and has been in existence for nearly 2024. In 1999 the Gaelic Athletic Association honoured Graiguecullen club legend Tommy Murphy by naming him on the Gaelic Football Team of the Millennium.
He was further honoured in 2005 when the GAA named a football competition in his honour.
