Gardaí issue appeal after elderly woman hit by car

The incident occurred in Graiguecullen on Tuesday

Appeal for witnesses as Garda injured with car rammed near Ballyshannon

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was struck by a car in Graiguecullen. 

The woman, who is in her 70s, was taken to Waterford Hospital with what are said to be non life threatening injuries. 

“Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 21st January, 2025, Gardaí responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Castleview, Graiguecullen, County Carlow.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken by ambulance to Waterford Hospital for assessment. Her injuries are not life-threatening,” Gardaí said. 

They said investigations are ongoing and appealed for information.
