Allegedly had cocaine for sale or supply in Laois

A man appeared in court accused of having cocaine for sale or supply in Portlaoise. 

Savo Kukic (29) of 4 Bruach Na Habhann, Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise is accused of obstruction and possessing cocaine for sale or supply and possession in Portlaoise on February 15 last and possession of cannabis in Portlaoise on February 16 last. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the case was summary and could be dealt with in the district court subject to the judge accepting jurisdiction. He said the alleged value of the drugs was €490 in cocaine and €60 cannabis. 

Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick requested a date for mention and disclosure in the case. 

Judge Susan Fay said she would accept jurisdiction in the case. 

Ms Fitzpatrick said her client was in receipt of jobseekers allowance and she requested legal aid in the case. 

Judge Fay approved her request and adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on May 19
