Man accused of burglary and drug possession in Laois

A man appeared in court accused of burglary and drug possession in Laois. 

Bernie Cawley (22) of 2 River View, Ballinasloe, Galway, is accused of burglary by entering a building known as The Hideout at Clonanny, Portarlington on March 3 last. He is also accused of having cocaine for sale or supply at Portlaoise Garda Station on May 17 last. 

Solicitor Barry Fitzgerald requested disclosure and said his client was not seeking bail. 

Judge Susan Fay remanded the defendant in custody. She adjourned the case to Portlaoise District Court on April 14.
