The youngest Laois Rose 2025 entrant is a musical teenager who has her heart set on becoming a teacher.

Ellie O'Sullivan is one of the 17 young women taking part in the Laois Rose Selection Night this Good Friday.

She told the Leinster Express / Laois Live about herself.

"I am an 18 year old from Rathdowney Co. Laois. I’m currently a first year student at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, with the aspirations of becoming a post-primary teacher.

"I have dreamed of being a teacher from the age of six, and I’m excited to have started on this journey.

"I work part-time at a local garage, where I have great chats and laughs with local regulars. The job has boosted my confidence greatly, and has helped me come out of my shell," she said.

She has been singing and playing music for most of her life.

"Music has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been involved in musical theatre from a young age, having attended stage school and singing lessons, along with playing several instruments.

"So far, my Rose journey has been incredible, and I’ve loved meeting such kind and likeminded girls.  I'm looking forward to showcasing my personality and talents on April 18," Ellie said.

The Laois Rose Selection Night takes place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday, April 18. The winner will take part in the televised International Rose of Tralee in Kerry this August.
