With the Laois Rose selection night soon approaching, meet one of your seventeen potential Laois Roses: 22 year old Freda Byrne.
Freda, originally from Clonkeen, now lives in Portlaoise with her sister, and works as an SNA.
"I’m 22 years old and work as a Special Needs Assistant at Kolbe Special School. I help children with severe needs, and it’s really rewarding to see them thrive," Freda explained to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
Freda is sponsored by Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise.

Coming from a family of ten, Freda is never short of company!
"I come from a big family of ten, and I have six wonderful nieces and nephews who always keep me busy and entertained," she said.
In her spare time, Freda enjoys walks and hikes, with a love of nature.
"I’m also hoping to do some traveling in the next year to explore new places," she said.
The Laois Rose Selection Night takes place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday, April 18, when 17 entrants will be interviewed on stage by Ollie Turner, cheered on by their supporters in the audience.
The winner will then be announced who will take part in the televised International Rose of Tralee in Kerry this August.
