The Laois footballers are set to learn their fate this afternoon as the draw for the 2025 Tailteann Cup takes place at 1.30pm, with the O'Moore County placed in Pot 2 following their sixth-place finish in Division 3.

Laois have a good record in the competition, having reached the final in 2024 and the semi-finals in 2023. Laois were beaten by Down on both occasions in Croke Park.

Laois are in Pot 2 alongside Limerick, Sligo, and Wexford, so they can't be drawn against these teams in the group phase.

They will play three games in the group, one at home, one away and one neutral. Laois' first game will be at home to a team from Pot 4 (Waterford, Tipperary, London, and Longford). They'll face a team from Pot 3 (Antrim, Carlow, Leitrim and Wicklow) away from home. Their final game will be played at a neutral venue against a team from Pot 1 (Offaly, Westmeath, Kildare, and Fermanagh).

After the group stages, the top team advances to the quarter-final while the second-placed teams and the three best third-placed teams, along with New York, go into the Preliminary quarter-finals.

The first round of games is on the weekend of May 10 and May 11, where the top-seeded team will host the third-seeded team and the second-seeded team will host the fourth-seeded team.

On the weekend of May 17 & 18, the third-seeded team will host the second-seeded team while the fourth-seeded team will host the top seeds.

The weekend of May 31 and June 1 will see the first and second seeds and the third and fourth seeds meet at neutral venues.

The draw will take place at 1.30pm on Wednesday, April 30 and will be broadcast live on GAA.ie and GAA YouTube channel.
