Help available to communities by Laois Partnership is set to be outlined in Rathdowney when the local development company holds an upcoming roadshow in the town.
Laois Partnership says the event is being held to promote its work in helping communities, while showing appreciation to their colleagues and supporters.
Based on the New Road in Portlaoise, Laois Partnership says it works to improve the economic and community sectors through the implementation of various schemes and programmes.
It says roadshow attendees will learn more about these services, which include Social Inclusion (SICAP), Rural Development (LEADER Programme), Work Placement (CE, Tús, and RSS), Childcare Services, Social Prescribing, Laois Services to Elderly People (LSTEP), Social Enterprise, and Climate Action.
The development company says Rathdowney is one of the many communities across Laois where it has worked with groups to improve the quality of life. MORE BELOW PICTURE.

It says that among the initiatives delivered or supported by the company in Rathdowney are the community garden, the Baby & Me parent and toddler group, Failte Isteach English classes, Men’s and Women’s Shed groups, and more.
Caroline Lydon is the CEO of Laois Partnership.
“We are delighted to be holding this event to mark the second year of Local Development Week. Although our main headquarters is based in Portlaoise, our team work across the full county and it’s important that areas like Rathdowney know what supports are available to them. We have supported a lot of projects in Rathdowney over the last few years, so we welcome all in the locality to pop in and share their ideas for their community. You will also be able to find out more about the range of programmes we offer,” she said.
