It is set to be a scorcher weekend for the Blackthorn Festival at Gracefield GAA Club this weekend and ahead of the big event the organising committee have accepted a cash boost from the local credit union.
Portarlington Credit Union donated €500 to support the Portarlington festival taking place on Saturday, May 17.
"We were delighted to welcome Colin Hanlon and Charlotte Brereton from Gracefield GAA today as they stopped by to collect a donation in support of their upcoming Gracefield GAA 'Blackthorn Festival' happening this Saturday!
"It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day filled with great music, community spirit, and celebration. We hope everyone heading along has a brilliant time! Best of luck with the festival from all of us!"
The cheque was presented by the Credit Union's Assistant Manager, Michelle Shortall.
