Man accused of burglary at Electric Picnic in Laois

A man appeared in court accused of burglary and handling stolen goods at the Electric Picnic campsite in Stradbally. 

Shane Daly (32) of No Fixed Abode is accused of burglary and handling stolen goods at the Pink Moon Campsite, Cosby Hall, Stradbally on August 17, 2024.  He is further accused of a second count of burglary at Cosby Hall, Stradbally on August 17, 2024.  

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the allegations stemmed from the Electric Picnic. He requested an adjournment in the case. 

Brian Mallon BL said he had no objection. Mr Mallon said his client was in receipt of social welfare and he requested legal aid. 

Judge Andrew Cody granted legal aid and adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on July 3.
