Laois libraries have advertised a catalogue full of sensory toys available for borrowing.
The sensory toys are available for people with extra sensory needs who are living in Laois, attending school in Laois or working in Laois.
The collection was chosen by staff of Laois County Library Service with advice from professionals working in the community.
"Our collection of resources has been created to assist children and adults with extra sensory needs," Laois Libraries have said.
"These toys are intended to aid in the development of essential skills such as gross motor skills, fine motor skills, communication skills, and visual perception skills."
Laois libraries may lend sensory toys and games such as balance boards, writing aids, fidget mats and soothing toys to children with learning difficulties or special needs to support the development of motor, play and life skills.
While based in Portlaoise, Portarlington, Mountmellick and Rathdowney libraries, this collection can be ordered for collection free of charge to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in County Laois from your local library.
The toys fall under headings such as gross motor skills, fine motor skills, play & life skills, and sensory & tactile skills.
