With the Electric Picnic taking centre stage in Stradbally this weekend, it was last weekend that delivered the key Championship action across Laois. The quarter-final line-up in the Laois Shopping Centre Senior Football Championship was confirmed, while the Intermediate Football Championship is now down to its final four. The sides beaten in the SFC have dropped into the Senior ‘B’ Championship, where they join the teams who lost their opening two games. In the IFC, Mountmellick and Annanough now move into the ‘B’ section alongside Timahoe and Portlaoise.In the LOETB Laois LGFA Senior Championship, Round 2 saw Ballyroan defeat Shanahoe, Portlaoise get the better of Sarsfields, St Conleth’s overcome Timahoe, and St Joseph’s see off Park-Ratheniska.
