A new Laois band has not just entered the Irish music scene with a bang-  they have kicked the metaphorical door down.

Voodoo Labs are no strangers to Europe's music scene, with veteran members taking Germany by storm last year.

Band members had previously toured as Chiral, before leaving and forming their own new group.

The rock band's breakout single 'Uncanny Valley' was launched on September 5, and has soared to the top ten in Ireland's music video charts within two days of its release.

Filmed at Mountmellick Community Arts Centre, the video features eerie scenes of actresses Izzy Dizzy Spells and Laois woman Trasna Duncan as maisonette dolls.

The band stayed local with their video crew, working with locals Robert Stanley and Dylan Duncan.

"We are excited about being able to relaunch the band as Voodoo Labs, and the new adventure we are all ready to take,"  Gary Duncan, AKA Red Lake Magick told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

"We had a lot of fun filming the video."

Voodoo Labs features band members Bluster Bhoy (Al Tierney) on guitar and vocals; Ger O Nine on bass; 'Deadly' Eddie Delaney on drums; DJ Sean Savage on decks and special effects; and 'Red Lake Magick' Gary Duncan on vocals and guitar.

Last January, Chiral was praised as one of the top ten Irish rock/metal bands of 2024. Chiral took to the Dunamaise Arts Centre in February for the launch of their debut album ‘The Karnival Of Chaos’, which saw massive crowds.
