A Laois woman set represent Ireland at the European 3D Archery Championships in Serbia needs help to fundraise her participation.

Competing as a traditional recurve archer, Ms Michelle Jay explained that the opportunity comes after months of training and dedication. However, with no sponsorship or grant supports in this endeavour, she must cover the significant costs herself.

In 2024, Ms Jay proudly represented Ireland at the World 3D Championships in Slovenia, the highest level possible for traditional archers— after qualifying and fundraising to make the trip happen.

Reflecting on her most recent competition, the Irish 3D Nationals, she admitted the course was tough.

"For Traditional archers such as myself, this is the highest level of competition it is possible to achieve.
"Any help at all with funding this would be very welcome and much appreciated."

Ms Jay was recently hailed as "the finest female traditional archer in this country" by Dunbrody Archer's Club at the recent Irish European Archery Championships.

The archer won Ireland's second gold medal at the games, winning by a margin of over 300 points.
