A Laois man will take on Croagh Patrick this month, in memory of his dearly missed father.
Brian Rohan and his wife Norma founded Embrace FARM to help support families through the loss of loved ones in farming accidents.
Mr Rohan sadly lost his father following a farming accident in 2012, and wishes to undertake this fundraiser in his memory.
"I'm raising money for Embrace FARM in memory of my dad, Liam, and anyone else who died suddenly within a farm family over the years," Mr Rohan explained.

"I'd love anyone and everyone to join me on the day or donate anything you can, big or small. I am climbing Croagh Patrick in memory of my dad, Liam, and I also turned 50 this year so I am calling it the half century hike," Mr Rohan shared.
"hose who know me, know Embrace FARM, a charity myself and Norma founded after my dad died. I am hoping to raise €5,000 (and hopefully beyond!) so we can continue to provide supports to farm families after a serious injury or sudden death, something we've been doing since 2014," he said.
"I really appreciate any support whether that is a donation, a share of this fundraiser, or a few hands to pull me up the last few metres on the day. Send me a message or text if you can join me, I'd love the company!" Mr Rohan finished.
The Croagh Patrick hike will take place on Saturday, October 4 2025. Those who wish to donate to the fundraiser can do so here.

In September, the Leinster Express / Laois Live reported that Embrace FARM is launching a variety of new support services specifically designed to help children and young adults who are processing loss and grief after a sudden death within a farm family.
Embrace FARM, which was founded and is headquartered in Laois, says the new services and resources will provide mental and emotional support for children and young people in farm families. It says the service has been specifically designed to reach rural farm families who might not have access to support due to limited local resources or geographical isolation within their communities.
