Laois author Ger Healion packed out the library in Mountmellick on Tuesday, September 30 for the launch of his new book that reminisces about his childhood growing up in the town. Ger, who is an education administrator at Maynooth University, grew up on O’Moore Street in Mountmellick, yards away from the courthouse that is now the library. Photographer Michael Scully was there on the night for the launch of ‘On a Bog by the Land near the River’.
