Portlaoise Musical Society has officially launched tickets for its much anticipated show this November.

Following on from their hugely successful 25th anniversary musical in 2024, 'Guys and Dolls', the society are excited to present their version of 'Come From Away'.

An exciting ticket launch night was held in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Culture Night 2025, where members gave audiences a first glimpse into this year’s production and what’s to come.

'Come From Away' tells the remarkable true story of how the small town of Gander, Newfoundland welcomed 7,000 stranded passengers after the events of September 11th, 2001.

In the days that followed, the community opened its homes and hearts to complete strangers, offering kindness, music, food, and friendship at a time when the world felt uncertain.

At its heart, Come From Away is a celebration of generosity, resilience, and community spirit, values that shine brightly within Portlaoise Musical Society.

"Much like the people of Gander, our members have come together with dedication and heart, putting countless hours into bringing this incredible story to life," a representative shared.

"Through teamwork, creativity, and passion, they each step into an array of inspiring characters, capturing the kindness and humanity that lie at the core of this remarkable show." Chairperson Angi McNulty praised the upcoming show.

“This is more than a musical, it’s a story that reminds us of the best of humanity, and we’re so proud to bring it to the people of Portlaoise," Ms McNulty shared.

In the lead-up to the show, Portlaoise Musical Society is also hosting a special fundraising night: the “Bing Bong Boogie” on Sunday October 26 at Delaney’s Main Bar from 6pm.

"The evening promises a lively singalong social gathering with a fizzy bubbles drinks reception and nibbles. Tickets are €25, with all proceeds supporting the production of Come From Away," they shared.

Tickets for Come From Away are available now from the Dunamaise Arts Centre box office or online here.
