Laois fire fighters and Laois Gardaí attended a fire at a derelict building in a Laois village last weekend.
A derelict building on the Main Street in Ballylinan was damaged in the fire.
It took place at around 5.30pm, on Sunday evening, October 12.
A crew from Laois County Fire and Rescue Service attended to put out the fire.
A spokesperson for Laois Gardaí told the Leinster Express / Laois Live that they are investigating the incident.
"We appeal to anyone in the area to contact us with any information they may have. We are ruling out all avenues to see if it was malicious or not," the Garda said.
Fire Safety Week takes place this week from October 13 to 19. Laois County Fire & Rescue Service will be sharing advice and tips all week on their Facebook page, as well as giving talks in a different Laois library every evening.
