BREAKING: Concerns over 300 jobs in Portarlington

Fastway Couriers in Portarlington

There are concerns for jobs in Portarlington tonight. 

It’s understood employees at Fastway Couriers were told to attend a meeting at the  company tomorrow. 

Fastway Couriers employs around 300 people around Ireland and a number of poeple at its depot in Botley Lane in Portarlington

Independent Cllr Aidan Mullins said he believed the company was going into receivership.  He spoke with an employee this evening.  

He expressed concern about the future of jobs at the company and said his thoughts were with the employees and their families.

Cllr Mullins urged the management to protect jobs at the depot and he urged State agencies to support the workers who are facing uncertainty at this time.
