Manor stone filling station in Ballacolla planing 12 new electric car chargers
A Laois service station is going green and going big on EV car chargers, introducing a dozen more on top of its existing offering.
The Circle K Manor Stone filling station beside the M8 motorway in Ballacolla, is on land owned by Pat McDonagh of Supermac's.
Applicant Ard Services is seeking planning permission from Laois County Council to replace 14 parking spaces with a dozen new EV chargers.
The service station was among the first in Laois to install car chargers a few years ago when it installed four Tesla chargers. The business currently has two ESB EV chargers.
The application seeks permission for: "a new high-power electric vehicle charging hub and associated infrastructure", with eight electric vehicle charging bays and four charging points, to replace 14 existing spaces.
They also plan to install a new EV canopy with illuminated signage, a new modular ESB Substation, a new EV banner and other signage, a signature wall, the relocation of existing lighting columns, new road markings and, all other associated drainage and site development works.
