RIP: 'Taken too soon' - Huge sadness in Laois after death of young dad of two
There is great sadness and despair in Laois this week following the death of a young father of two who died in hospital.
Paul Ryan, from Bellgrove, Ballybrittas in Laois, died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at St James's Hospital Dublin.
Paul was predeceased by his father Tom, grandparents and father-in-law Tom, his RIP.ie notice says.
"He will be sadly missed by his adored loving wife Christine, his loving little girls Mollie and Alison, his dear mother Maeve, brothers Lar, Ollie, Aidan and Tony, aunt Noreen, uncles Des and Con mother-in-law Christina, sisters-in-law Amanda, Sarah, Mary, Claire and Marie, brothers-in-law James, Brogan, John and Rory, adored nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends," it continues.
A special tribute has been made by Ballybrittas Utd which said: "All in Ballybrittas Utd are very saddened to hear the news of Paul's untimely passing. He was a much liked and respected member of our community.
"Past-players, Lar, Aidan and Anton are in our thoughts. We also remember Tommy for his contribution to Ballybrittas soccer over the years.
"We offer our deepest condolences to Paul's wife Christine, daughters Molly and Allison, mother Maeve and his brothers Lar, Oliver, Aidan and Anton."
Courtwood GAA said it was "shocked and saddened" at the sudden death of Paul, adding, "our sincere condolences to Christine, Mollie, Alyson, Meave, Lar, Oliver, Aidan, Anton and the extended Ryan and Conroy family.
"Paul was a great supporter of the club and had attended our first county final only three weeks ago. It was great to see him with his daughters and Christine supporting the team. The Ryan family have been involved in the club through juvenile to senior teams and Paul’s late father Tommy was also involved with the club. Paul was a great family man and a great supporter to all in the community. He will be sadly missed. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam."
Heartfelt messages have also been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Paul, with one mourner writing: "Christine....such sad news. I am so sorry for you, Mollie and Alison for the loss of your beautiful husband and their doting Dad. At this sad time know that you are in mine and many others thoughts and prayers. May God watch over you all. Sincere sympathies to all of your extended family".

"We are truly saddened to hear the news of Paul's passing. He was such a wonderful person and colleague. Paul's warmth and wonderful nature was felt by all that had the pleasure of his company. Our deepest sympathies go out to Christine, Molly and Alison, the Ryan and Conroy family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Paul will be greatly missed by all of us in Leprino Foods. May he rest in peace," another tribute read.
"Christine, we are so very very sorry to hear about Paul, he was a devoted husband who adored you, and an absolutely wonderful Father to Molly and Alison. Heartbroken for the loss of a young man taken too soon...To you, Molly and Allison, to Maeve, to Lar, Ollie Aidan and Anton and to all Paul's extended family and friends, we offer our deepest sympathy to you all. Rest in heavenly peace Paul," another person said.
His remains reposing at his home on Thursday evening (eircode R32 C2H2) from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10:30 am arriving The Sacred Heart Church, Rath (eircode R32 FN44) for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Emo.
