Barry Donnelly and Garda Inspector Joe Culliton
Laois Garda Inspector Joe Culliton is taking on Hyrox Dublin in aid of charity this weekend.
Along with fellow Laois resident Barry Donnelly, Inspector Culliton hopes to raise funds for the Cara Curley Fund.
Hyrox combines both running and workouts at stations with participants running one kilometre, followed by one functional workout station, repeated eight times. The races are hosted indoors in halls, creating an immersive and electrifying race, where spectators can support entrants from the very beginning to the end.
Joe and Barry both train at the UnLaois’d Gym in Portlaoise. They intend to take on the feat for the Cara Curley Fund in the RDS in Dublin this Friday, November 14. An estimated 30,000 are expected to take part over the course of the weekend.
The Cara Curley Fund was established to assist with the prevention and relief of financial hardship of persons who are in need due to a serious or life threatening illness. This is achieved by the provision of direct financial support for day-to-day expenses.
