People gathered at Market Sq Studios in Ballinakill for the launch on Sunday, November 23
The Ballinakill Trail App and Reusable 2GoCup Scheme successfully launched this weekend in Laois.
Locals gathered at Market Sq Studios in Ballinakill on Sunday, November 23 to do a litter pick around the town as well as explore the trails on the new app which has been developed by the Ballinakill Community Development Association in partnership with People First Credit Union.
The environmentally friendly 2GoCup Scheme, supported by the Laois Climate Action team, was also launched on the day. The scheme was implemented by Market Sq Studios as an initiative to reduce waste and protect the environment.

People have been encouraged to think reusable and return their 2GoCup to the nearest stockist, get a new cup, or get their €2 deposit back.
Attendees then finished off the day with a social café stop for tea and cake where they chatted about ways to support tourism network development in the county.
The Just Transition Tourism Activator with Failte Ireland and Laois County Council, both of which supported the initiatives, have planned similar events for 2026 with all welcome to join.
