If you're interested in heritage or curious about the Laois Heritage Office, the annual Laois Heritage Seminar is the place to be.

The Laois County Council-hosted event on December 13 in Portlaoise begins with videos presented by Thomas Carolan, Laois Heritage Officer, that document Laois Heritage events in 2025.

Talk two features archaeologist Colm Flynn of Horizon Archaeology. He will give an overview of what was discovered during the Rock of Dunamase carpark excavation.

Talk three features Traditional Cobbling and Historic Paving. Conservation architect James Byrne of Southgate Associates will speak about the craft of traditional cobbling and historic paving and give a summary of the 2025 Heritage Week award-winning event that was held in Cosby Hall, Stradbally.
