Excitement builds in Laois for inaugural Christmas festival in Stradbally

Excitement is building in Laois ahead of The Fitz of Inch Christmas Festival in Stradbally next weekend. The celebration for the local community will take place from Friday, December 12 to Sunday, December 14 with a Christmas Food and Crafts Market, a Santa Experience  as well as a series of live Christmas Concerts each evening.


The Christmas Concert series will feature a line-up of outstanding local talent, guaranteed to fill the air with joy and festive spirit.

On Friday, The Buggy School of Dance will perform from 7pm and The Beating Time Singers will take to the stage at 8pm.

Saturday night, will see local act the Stradbally Community Choir perform first, followed by Queen Bees Vocal Harmony Group.

On Sunday, the ever-popular Vicarstown Ukulele Group will commence proceedings at 7pm.

Each of the local support acts will run raffle on the evening of their performance to raise funds and ensure this truly local event gives as much as possible back to the community.

"The event is all about celebrating community, supporting local talent, and bringing people together in the true spirit of the season. The concerts include a daily raffle, with proceeds supporting local community groups, which is a wonderful way to give back during the season of goodwill.”

During the concert intervals, guests can enjoy delicious food and explore the lively Christmas Food and Crafts Market, packed with handmade gifts, sweet treats, and festive decorations from local artisans. There really is something for everyone to enjoy at the Fitz of Inch Christmas Festival. 

Santa, Mrs Claus, the elves and even the Grinch all play a part in the event. The family-friendly extravaganza promises fun and festive cheer for all the family. 

Guests will be entertained by cheerful elves on arrival, offering face painting and lots of festive fun for all the family. Mrs. Claus will be on hand to provide delicious hot chocolate and a chat with the little ones too. The cosy barn is the perfect place snuggle up and listen to heartwarming tales that capture the magic of the season. Of course, a visit to Santa’s grotto is the real highlight where each child will receive a special treat and an optional family festive photo to capture the moment. The fun doesn’t end there! Already, the Grinch has been up to his usual mischief so the elves will need help with a treasure hunt, filled with laughter and fun surprises.
