Laois shoppers have raised more than €1,700 for Lidl Ireland’s charity partner Family Carers Ireland, contributing to an overall total of more than €270,000 in funds raised from ticket sales of the retailer’s popular festive fundraiser - Trolley Dash.

One winner in every one of Lidl’s 190 stores nationwide - including two winners across Laois - completed a two-minute supermarket sweep-style dash to bag their Christmas goodies.

Eimear O’Sullivan, Corporate Affairs Director at Lidl Ireland, spoke about the event in a statement to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

“We are absolutely delighted by the overwhelming generosity of our customers this year. The Lidl Trolley Dash is a much-loved festive tradition, and to see a total of €272,060 raised is simply incredible. 100% of these crucial funds will directly support the vital work of Family Carers Ireland, making a tangible difference to carers and their families right across the country. On behalf of Lidl, I want to thank everyone who purchased a ticket and supported this essential campaign,” she said. MORE BELOW PHOTO.
