A Laois school has raised a fantastic amount for a worthwhile cause, through an exciting raffle among students.
In recent days, Colaiste Iosagáin in Portarlington held a raffle for St Vincent de Paul, with all proceeds going towards the charity.
Leaving Cert Applied students Ross Phelan and Robert Norman presented a cheque for €1,001 to Ms Cathy Honan, representing St. Vincent de Paul.

There were four lucky winners in the school-wide raffle.
Leon McDonough in 1st Year won a signed Jayson Molumby jersey. Fellow first year Aaron Walsh won a World Cup soccer ball.
Also winning a World Cup soccer ball was Jack Donoher in third year, with 6th year student Darragh Doyle winning a Laois GAA jersey.
Cathy Honan thanked the students for their efforts in raising much needed funds for St. Vincent de Paul’s work in the local community.
A number of sponsors were thanked for making this fundraiser possible, including Jayson Molumby, Elvery’s Sports and Laois County Board.
School Principal Justin Brown thanked Cathy for representing St. Vincent de Paul at this event and commended the fundraising efforts of the students.
