No funding for road repairs in Laois town until 2027

No money for road repairs in Mountrath.

Safety concerns have been raised with Laois County Council regarding the L5676 road at Gaelscoil Trumera and Trumera GAA Club in Mountrath.


Cllr James Kelly requested that funding be provided to complete road resurfacing and drainage works in the area as part of the Local Cost Safety Scheme at the December meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory / Mountmellick MD.


The council told Cllr Kelly that the application will be considered for submission to the Department for funding in 2027 as the 2026 programme has been submitted.
