A court was told forensic analysis of suspected drugs found in Laois will be prioritised as they are valued in the millions.

Thomas Ryan (39) of Wood View, Boulick, Gortnahoe, Thurles, county Tipperary, is accused of possessing drugs for sale or supply at Killnaseer, Rathdowney, Laois on October 28 last.

He appeared before Portlaoise District Court via video link where Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby requested four weeks to get directions from the DPP.
