Ballybrittas Taekwondo champion Shane Allison has a lot to look forward to in 2026.
“My main New Year’s resolution would have to be starting to get my college assignments in on time, and secondly eating less chocolate hobnobs as my current chocolate hobnob intake is through the roof!” Shane joked.

“As for my hopes for 2026- I want to try to keep my two knees intact while also continuing my success at an international level in Kickboxing and Taekwondo,” he said.
“I am due to kick off my professional career on February 28, fighting in the Olympia in Liverpool on Total Kombat. I am hoping for a great start to what hopefully turns into a long successful professional career for me,” he said.
“I have also been selected as part of the National Taekwondo team to compete in the ITF European Championships which is being held in Maribor, Slovenia in April so I’m hoping to pick up another European Title there,” the kickboxer finished.
