Portlaoise District Court
A solicitor accepted a book of evidence on behalf of her client at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court.
Robert Dwane (31) of 25 Mountain View, Portlaoise, is accused of attempted robbery and production of an industrial pliers at Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise on October 4 and at Greenmill Lane, Portlaoise, on September 28, 2025.
Garda Lisa Murray told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that she had served a book of evidence on the defendant’s solicitor in the body of the courthouse.
Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said the defendant had consented to the book being served on her.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the defendant should be sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court beginning on February 17, 2026.
Judge Peter White gave the standard alibi warning to the defendant, who appeared in court via video link.
He certified for legal aid for a solicitor and two counsel and sent the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court on February 17.
