Shanahoe GAA Club has applied for planning permission from Laois County Council to make improvements to the club grounds.

The club submitted the proposal for the works at its club grounds in Boley, Abbeyleix just before Christmas.

The planning application is seeking permission to provide a new spectator fence and walking track around the perimeter of the existing playing field.

According to the proposal, Shanahoe GAA Club also intend to erect lighting around the track as well as all other associated site works. 

Laois County Council are due to make their decision by 25 February 2026.
