Laois Gardaí have reported twelve road accidents between January 2 and January 5 due to icy conditions and sharp frost.
No injuries were sustained in any crash, with material damages caused to vehicles.
Gardaí have confirmed with the Leinster Express / Laois Live that frosty conditions contributed to these accidents.
On Friday January 2, a two car collision occurred on the Killeshin road in Portlaoise.
Also on Friday, a car lost control in Portarlington.
On Saturday January 3, there was a single car collision in Ballylahan Lower, Ballylinan.
In Tolerton, Killeshin on Sunday January 4, there was a single vehicle accident on the Arles road, due to icy conditions.
In Graigue, Mountmellick on Monday December 5, a single vehicle lost control due to the weather.
Also on Monday, two cars collided on a roundabout on the Dublin road in Portlaoise.
On the James Fintan Lalor Avenue on Monday, two cars collided due to icy conditions.
A single vehicle crashed into a ditch in Clonsoghey, Mountmellick, having lost control due to the icy weather.
On the Ballinakill road in Abbeyleix, two cars collided at the traffic lights on Monday.
In Irishtown, Mountmellick on Sunday at 3pm, two cars were rear ended due to icy conditions.
At Tonduff, Abbeyleix on Sunday, a single vehicle crashed into a ditch.
In Garryglass, Timahoe on the Stradbally road, two cars collided having skidded on ice.
