A Portlaoise gym-goer aims to beat yet another Guinness World Record on Thursday night, 8 January at the Midlands Park Hotel.
Anton Krivski hopes to attempt the Guinness World Record for the furthest simulated distance climbed on a stair machine in one hour.
However, Anton is no stranger to breaking world records. The fitness fanatic already bet this record in 2024.
Anton successfully took on the mammoth challenge in June 2024 at the Midlands Park Hotel gym in Portlaoise where he managed to climb a staggering 1,705 km (1.06 miles) in just one hour.

Anton also holds the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance swimming backwards in 8 hours. He achieved this record in Athy, County Kildare back in September 2022. He managed to reach 15.66 km (9.73 miles) within the time limit.
Now, Anton is hellbent on entering the Guinness Book of Records yet again, this time defending his previous record on the stair machine. The current record stands at 1,748 km.
The Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise has shared their support for Anton on social media, saying: "Wishing Anton the very best as he prepares for another Guinness World Record attempt in our Health & Fitness Club."
The Midlands Park Hotel has invited people to come along to the event this Thursday evening to cheer Anton on in his pursuit. The event will take place at the Midlands Park Health & Fitness Club at 6pm.
