National Lottery money could be won by deserving Laois community groups, of up to €10,000.

The HSE has confirmed the 26 Laois groups and charities who received National Lottery grants in 2025, as the scheme opens again for 2026.

The HSE offers National Lottery grants to health and social care projects run by community groups and voluntary organisations, ranging from €300 to €10,000 each.

The 2025 Laois recipients come from all around the county including Portlaoise, Portarlington, Mountmellick and Mountrath.

They also provide funding for one-off projects and services that improve the health and social care needs of communities.

"We fund one-off projects and services that improve the health and social care needs of communities. For example, you might help people with a disability, older people, carers or disadvantaged groups.

"You can apply for funding to: buy equipment and small fixtures and fittings like hoists, tables, and chairs, run camps, classes, courses, personal development training, information or activity events. You must be able to start and finish your project in the same year you apply for the grant," the HSE advise.

A spokesperson confirmed the Laois awardees to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
