A book of evidence was served on a man who is accused of assault causing harm in Portlaoise.
Miroslav Harakal (30) of No Fixed Abode, is accused of assault causing harm at The Grange, Borris Road, Portlaoise on November 14 last.
Garda Lisa Murray gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the DPP consents to the defendant being sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court in relation to the single count of assault causing harm in the book of evidence.
Judge Stephanie Coggans delivered an alibi warning which Anne Doyle BL said she would explain to the accused. She requested a Czech interpreter for the next appearance and requested legal aid for a solicitor and a barrister.
Judge Coggans granted legal aid and requested an interpreter for the defendant’s next appearance. She sent the case forward to the current sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court beginning on February 17, 2026.
